Welcome to Indonesia Cruises

Indonesia Cruises is a management consortium of three splendid Indonesian sailing vessels that together have succeeded in setting the standard for responsible maritime tourism throughout the archipelago.

Ombak Putih was the first of these beautiful little ships and launched in 1998. She has been undertaking ‘leisure expeditions’ through the Eastern part of Indonesia ever since and over the years she has built up a solid reputation as one of the most comfortable and dependable ‘Bugi schooners’ sailing out of Bali. Leisure expeditions are much more than just a normal holiday, they are lifetime experiences that combine the spirit of exploring many diverse exotic cultures with the joy of going ashore on uninhabited islands and discovering pristine nature on truly deserted beaches. Ombak Putih (or ‘White Wave’) is used to carry a mix of young and old and over the years she has built up a loyal following of friends who keep coming back.

Ombak Biru (or ‘Blue Wave’ ) was designed to be the most attractive (and fitted out to be the most efficient ) Indonesian ‘phinisi’ afloat with just one specific purpose in mind: to explore the very best of the faraway and untouched wonders of the underwater world in Indonesia. She was launched in 2001 and has been continuously updated with cutting edge diving technology so she has become the benchmark against which all others are judged. Diving aficionados from all over the world know of her reputation and the combined knowledge of the dive masters of Ombak Biru is unsurpassed. Indonesia offers some of the most spectacular dive spots in the world with an abundance of marine life like few other sites on the planet come close to.

Dewi Nusantara (or the ‘Goddess of the Eastern Islands’) is the latest and the largest addition to the fleet. At 47 meters overall and rigged as a majestic three masted schooner she is literally in a class of her own. With just eight superb suites on her lower deck and an ultimately spacious admiral’s retreat in the panoramic stern quarters she unabashedly caters to the luxurious top end of the international dive market. Handcrafted by experienced Indonesian shipwrights from the best available hardwoods all the way from keel to topmasts, she is the epitome of traditional beauty and started her maiden voyage to North Sulawesi at the end of May this year.

At our head office in Bali, Indonesia Cruises has a small team of highly experienced professionals who react swiftly and smartly to any requests and who can tailor-make any individual itinerary both before and after the live aboard experience. Let us help you arrange an unforgettable voyage, both above and underwater…
